LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fazoli’s, America’s rapidly expanding fast-casual Italian restaurant chain, celebrated contributions made by its franchisees and suppliers during the chain’s National Brand Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. C&M Pasta of Quincy, Ill., received Franchisee of the Year, while Park 100 Foods picked up New Supplier of the Year honors. Genpak earned the Innovative Supplier of the Year award.

“Duane McIntyre and C&M Pasta represent the dedicated, hard-working franchisees that have helped Fazoli’s achieve record sales and growth,” said Carl Howard, president and CEO. “When our guests walk in the door, they expect high-quality food at affordable prices with friendly, efficient service. Duane and C&M Pasta meet their expectations every day.”

C&M Pasta, which achieved sales growth of 13.8% over last year, became a Fazoli’s franchisee 20 years ago.

Eric Sparks and Jim Washburn accepted the New Supplier of the Year award on behalf of Park 100 Foods. The company, which has been a Fazoli’s supplier for two years, created several products used in successful limited-time offers and continues development of unique sauces that guests enjoy.

“Park 100 Foods’ excellent Research and Development team adapts to the changing commodity marketplace, helping us control costs while keeping guests happy,” Howard said.

Genpak earned the Innovative Supplier of the Year award for creating Fazoli’s new three-and four-compartment takeaway containers that are instrumental to the restaurant chain’s “Drive Under 5” drive-thru initiative. Steve Sugden and Tawn Whittemore accepted the award on behalf of Genpak, a Fazoli’s supplier since 1997.

“It’s not often that a packaging supplier is recognized for an award,” said Howard. “In tests of Genpak’s new packaging, order accuracy improved by 12 percent, and problem incidents associated with packaging dropped by 71 percent.”

Fazoli’s recently announced an aggressive expansion program and incentive plan for new franchisees. It is targeting Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Knoxville, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Toledo, as well as other locations.

The restaurant chain continues to experience unprecedented sales growth. Average franchise unit volumes consistently exceed $1 million. Franchise operators’ sales have increased 13.6% over the last two years with a total of 10 consecutive quarters of growth. Between April and September of this year, 52 weekly sales records have been set at franchised locations.
